A Dallas Cowboys versus Philadelphia Eagles NFL matchup attracted more television viewers than Major League Baseball's World Series on October 30, 2026, marking a notable ratings victory for professional football over baseball's championship series.
The head-to-head competition between America's two most popular professional sports leagues resulted in the NFC East rivalry game drawing a larger audience than the Fall Classic, according to overnight ratings data. The Cowboys-Eagles contest, one of the NFL's most storied rivalries, demonstrated the league's continued dominance in live sports viewership even against baseball's premier postseason event.
Specific rating numbers and total viewership figures for both broadcasts were not immediately released. The World Series typically commands significant national attention, making the NFL's ability to surpass it in same-night competition a significant indicator of shifting sports consumption patterns.
