Florida has announced its starting quarterback for Saturday's highly anticipated matchup against Georgia, though the program did not immediately disclose the player's identity in its official statement released Friday.
The decision comes ahead of the SEC rivalry game scheduled for this weekend, with both programs preparing for what is traditionally one of the conference's most intense contests. Florida's coaching staff evaluated quarterback options throughout the week before finalizing the starter for the road game in Athens.
Further details regarding the announcement and the selected quarterback's season statistics were not included in the initial release. The Gators enter the game looking to upset the Bulldogs in a contest that often carries significant implications for the SEC East division race.
