The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and its players' union have agreed to expand team rosters and raise minimum salaries ahead of the league's fourth season.
The deal, announced Thursday, will increase the number of players per team and improve compensation for athletes in the growing professional women's hockey circuit.
League executives, including Jayna Hefford, executive vice president of hockey operations, and Amy Scheer, executive vice president of business operations, have been instrumental in the negotiations.
The agreement marks another step forward for the PWHL as it continues to establish itself as a premier destination for women's hockey talent.
