The New Orleans Pelicans have opened the season with a 1-4 record, intensifying early concerns about the team's trajectory. On October 29, 2026, the Pelicans hosted the Sacramento Kings at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Forward Zion Williamson, wearing number 1, was seen reacting after a basket during the second half of the contest.
The disappointing start has sparked debate among analysts and fans about whether the organization needs to make significant changes to salvage the campaign. Williamson's performance and the team's overall chemistry will be closely monitored as the Pelicans seek to turn their season around.
