The Toronto Maple Leafs have contacted the Detroit Red Wings regarding defenseman Simon Edvinsson, though complications exist in any potential deal. The 21-year-old Swedish blueliner has drawn interest from Toronto, according to a report published Saturday.
Edvinsson, selected sixth overall by Detroit in the 2021 NHL Draft, has developed into a key piece of the Red Wings' blue line. The Maple Leafs' inquiry signals their continued search for defensive reinforcement, though the nature of the reported problem remains unspecified.
