England's women exited the Rugby League World Cup at the group stage after a 24-6 loss to Samoa in Wollongong on 30 October 2026.

Samoa led 12-0 at halftime with three tries from Crichton Ropati, and added further tries from Mercedez Taulelei-Siala and Fanua Rimoni. Pauline Piliae-Rasabale kicked a goal and a penalty.

England's only try came from Evie Cousins, converted by Isabel Rowe. The match marked the end of Jodie Cunningham's international career after 38 caps and four World Cups.

Despite the defeat, Hollie-Mae Dodd was named player of the match for her strong performance, and coach Stuart Barrow's young squad (11 players aged 23 or under) showed promise for the 2030 tournament.

Samoa advances to the semi-finals to face New Zealand.
