Ballston Spa staged a dramatic comeback in the Section 2 Class AA semifinals on Thursday, overcoming a two-goal deficit in overtime to advance to the championship match. The victory sets up a reunion with Bethlehem in the final.
The semifinal took place on October 29, 2026, in Stillwater, New York. Ballston Spa senior Leah Szmarz featured prominently in the match, which saw the team battle back against Columbia. Columbia's Madelyn Marra, a junior, and freshman Charlotte Haskell were also noted in the contest.
The overtime rally secures Ballston Spa's place in the championship game, where they will face Bethlehem in a rematch of a previous title meeting.
