Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren has been diagnosed with a small patellar tendon tear and will miss eight to ten weeks, the team announced. The injury occurred during the Thunder's game against the Denver Nuggets on October 22, 2026, at Paycom Center. Holmgren, the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, was driving past Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon in the first quarter when he sustained the injury. The 7-foot-1 center had been a key contributor for Oklahoma City this season. His absence represents a significant blow to the Thunder's frontcourt depth as they navigate the early part of the 2026-27 campaign.
