Former Australia opener David Warner delivered a scathing assessment of his former team after South Africa secured a 176-run victory in the third Test at Cape Town, clinching the series 2-1.
Collapse on Final Day
Chasing 288 to win, Australia lost two wickets in the first over from Kagiso Rabada and never recovered. Rabada claimed three wickets in his opening spell, becoming the fastest bowler to reach 350 Test wickets. A mix-up between Josh Inglis and Cameron Green led to Inglis being run out for four, and spinner Simon Harmer then took 6-16, including the wickets of Alex Carey and Cooper Connolly, as Australia were bowled out for 111.
Warner's Scathing Critique
Speaking on Fox Sports during the lunch break with Australia at 60-7, Warner described the performance as "terrible", "utterly disgraceful" and "un-Australian". He said the batters had let the bowlers down all series, singling out Matt Renshaw as the only one who showed fight in the first Test.
South Africa's Dominance
Harmer finished with match figures of 10-120, while Rabada's first spell yielded 3-14. The victory lifts South Africa to the top of the world Test rankings and second in the World Test Championship standings. The series win comes after a remarkable turnaround from 1-0 down, sparked by captain Temba Bavuma's century in the second Test.
