Trainer Bill Mott will saddle two of the leading contenders in the 2026 Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday with a post time of 6:16 p.m. ET. Sovereignty is the second choice at 5-2 odds, while stablemate Knightsbridge is third at 9-2. The Japanese thoroughbred Forever Young, the reigning champion of the race, is the 2-1 favorite.
The field also includes Preakness Stakes winner Napoleon Solo at 15-1 and T O Password at 30-1 from post 1. Handicapper Jeff Hochman, who posted a 65.7% win rate at Saratoga and Del Mar during the summer 2025 season, has released his predictions. Hochman is skeptical of Knightsbridge despite its back-to-back graded stakes victories, citing jockey Luis Saez's 0-for-6 record in the Breeders' Cup Classic and just one win in 75 starters across the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
Hochman's top selection is a horse that has "looked good in his morning workouts," and he also favors a double-digit longshot that "has thrived at Keeneland." The full odds and post positions are: 1 T O Password 30-1, 2 Sovereignty 5-2, 3 Golden Tempo 5-1, 4 The Puma 10-1, 5 Forever Young 2-1, 6 Magnitude 6-1 (scratched), 7 Knightsbridge 9-2, 8 Napoleon Solo 15-1.
