Ottawa Senators forward Hayden Hodgson has been suspended for two games by the NHL Department of Player Safety for charging and boarding Los Angeles Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke. The incident occurred during a recent game between the two teams.
The suspension was announced by the league on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Hodgson will forfeit salary corresponding to the two games missed under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Charging and boarding are infractions that involve violent checks against vulnerable opponents, with boarding specifically targeting players who are defenseless near the boards. The league determined Hodgson's actions warranted supplemental discipline beyond any penalties assessed during the game.
