Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey has expressed frustration with the team's recurring pattern of falling behind by significant margins early in games. Maxey acknowledged the mental and physical toll of constantly mounting comebacks, stating he is tired of the 76ers having to rally from big deficits.
The comments come as the 76ers navigate a challenging stretch of their 2026-27 NBA season. Maxey, who has emerged as a primary offensive option for Philadelphia, highlighted the unsustainable nature of repeatedly digging out of early holes against quality opponents.
While the 76ers have shown resilience in several comeback victories this season, the All-Star guard emphasized that the approach is not a recipe for consistent success in the Eastern Conference. The team's coaching staff is reportedly addressing first-half defensive intensity and offensive execution to prevent the recurring slow starts.
