Atlanta Hawks rookie Kingston Flemings has been suspended for one game after elbowing New Orleans Pelicans guard Bryce McGowens, the NBA announced. The incident occurred during a recent matchup between the two teams.
The league's disciplinary action follows a review of the play, which was deemed a flagrant foul warranting supplemental discipline. Flemings will serve the suspension during the Hawks' next game.
McGowens, a second-year player for the Pelicans, was not seriously injured on the play. The suspension marks the first disciplinary action of Flemings' young NBA career.
