Ohio State offensive lineman Austin Siereveld has pointed to snap count issues as a primary factor behind the unit's recent errors, according to a report from the Columbus Dispatch. The Buckeyes' offensive line has faced scrutiny for inconsistent performance, and Siereveld believes addressing the timing and communication at the line of scrimmage could resolve many of the mistakes.
Siereveld, who has seen significant playing time for the Buckeyes, emphasized that the offensive line's struggles are not solely about technique or assignment errors but often stem from pre-snap confusion. He suggested that cleaner snap count operations and better synchronization with the quarterback would allow the unit to play faster and more cohesively.
The comments come as Ohio State prepares for the latter half of the Big Ten schedule, where offensive line play will be critical in conference matchups. Head coach Ryan Day and offensive line coach Justin Frye have been working with the group to improve communication and reduce penalties, with snap count discipline emerging as a focal point in practice sessions.
