Sports journalist Pat Murphy disclosed that he had a "damage control" conversation with New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman following viral comments about the team, according to a report from The Big Lead on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
The details of the viral comments and the exact nature of the conversation were not specified in the initial report. Murphy's revelation suggests the Yankees' front office moved quickly to address the fallout from the remarks.
Cashman, who has led the Yankees' baseball operations since 1998, has not publicly commented on the exchange. The Yankees organization also declined to comment on the matter.
