The College Football Playoff selection committee released its first rankings of the 2026 season on Tuesday, placing the Miami Hurricanes at No. 1. The announcement comes after Miami's victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers on October 24 at Hard Rock Stadium, where wide receiver Malachi Toney scored a touchdown and celebrated with quarterback Darian Mensah. The Hurricanes' early-season performance has positioned them as the initial favorite for the national championship.
