Fenerbahce will host Liverpool in a highly anticipated fixture with former Reds striker Dirk Kuyt serving as the Turkish club's caretaker manager. Kuyt, who spent six seasons at Anfield between 2006 and 2012, finds himself in the dugout against his old team in what promises to be an emotionally charged encounter.
The Dutch forward scored 71 goals in 286 appearances for Liverpool, winning the FA Cup and League Cup during his tenure. His appointment as interim boss at Fenerbahce adds a compelling narrative to this clash, with the 46-year-old looking to mastermind a result against the Premier League giants.
Liverpool arrive as favorites given their squad depth and European pedigree, but Fenerbahce will be buoyed by home support and the motivation of facing a former hero. Kuyt's intimate knowledge of Liverpool's playing style could provide a tactical edge for the Turkish side.
