The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a minor league deal with infielder Vidal Brujan, who most recently played for the New York Mets. The transaction adds depth to Atlanta's farm system ahead of the 2027 season.
Brujan, 26, appeared in 47 games for the Mets during the 2026 campaign, posting a .218 batting average with two home runs and 11 RBIs. The switch-hitter saw time at second base, shortstop, and in the outfield, showcasing the versatility that made him a valuable bench piece.
Originally signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent in 2015, Brujan made his major league debut in 2021. He was traded to the Miami Marlins in 2023 before joining the Mets organization. Across parts of four MLB seasons, he owns a career .221 average with 10 home runs and 52 RBIs in 218 games.
The Braves' move continues their pattern of acquiring experienced utility players on low-risk contracts to bolster organizational depth. Brujan will report to Triple-A Gwinnett and compete for a roster spot during spring training.
