San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is actively looking to add a wide receiver before the NFL trade deadline, according to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle. Shanahan, known for his preference for a specific type of receiver, is exploring options to bolster the team's passing attack.
The report comes as the 49ers prepare for the second half of the 2026 season. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jauan Jennings was highlighted in the article, noting his performance against the Indianapolis Colts on October 25 in Minneapolis. Jennings caught a pass and ran in the fourth quarter of that game, as captured by Associated Press photographer Bruce Kluckhohn.
The trade deadline typically falls in early November, and Shanahan's search reflects the team's desire to strengthen its receiving corps for a playoff push.
