The Houston Astros are reportedly interviewing St. Louis Cardinals legend Albert Pujols for their managerial opening, according to a report from Baseball Now. The three-time National League MVP and 11-time All-Star spent the first 11 seasons of his Hall of Fame career with the Cardinals before joining the Los Angeles Angels and later returning to St. Louis for his final season in 2022.
Pujols, 46, retired after the 2022 season with 703 career home runs, ranking fourth on the all-time list. The Astros have been searching for a new manager since parting ways with Joe Espada following the 2026 season. Pujols has expressed interest in coaching and management roles since his retirement, though this would represent his first known interview for a major league managerial position.
