The San Francisco 49ers conducted tryouts for two former University of Tennessee players during NFL Week 9, according to a report from Vols Wire. The workout took place as the 49ers continue to evaluate roster options midway through the 2026 season.
Dan Harralson of Vols Wire reported the tryouts on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The identities of the two former Volunteers and the specific positions they were evaluated for were not disclosed in the initial report.
NFL teams regularly bring in free agents for workouts during the season to maintain depth charts and prepare for potential injuries or roster moves. The 49ers' decision to look at former Tennessee talent reflects the program's continued presence in the professional pipeline.
