Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Ilya Mikheyev scored two goals to lead his team to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night at Amalie Arena, improving the Lightning's home record to a perfect 8-0 this season.
Mikheyev opened the scoring in the first period and added another later in the game, while the Lightning's defense limited the Blackhawks to a single goal. Chicago goaltender Arvid Soderblom made several saves to keep the game close, but Tampa Bay's offense proved too much.
The game also featured a second-period fight between Blackhawks left winger Dillon Boucher and Lightning left wing Jeffrey Viel, adding physicality to the contest.
With the win, Tampa Bay continues its strong start at home, while Chicago falls further behind in the standings.
