O'Shaquie Foster Enters Pound-for-Pound Top 10 After Navarrete Unification Win

O'Shaquie Foster Enters Pound-for-Pound Top 10 After Navarrete Unification Win
World Sports · 08:05:20 - Friday, 30 October 2026

O'Shaquie Foster has entered the pound-for-pound top 10 for the first time after a masterful unification victory over Emanuel Navarrete in October 2026, capping a remarkable year that also included a decision win over Raymond Ford in May.

The 33-year-old unified super featherweight champion from Houston, now 26-3 with 12 knockouts, has overcome a tumultuous past that included two early professional losses, a 2017 arrest on attempted murder charges later reduced to aggravated assault, four months in jail, and displacement from Hurricane Harvey. His resurgence was sparked by watching Terence Crawford become undisputed champion while incarcerated.

Foster avenged a controversial 2024 loss to Robson Conceição by dominating the rematch, then outclassed former unified featherweight champion Stephen Fulton Jr. before his 2026 campaign. His performance against Navarrete, a decorated champion, showcased his evolution into a boxer-puncher and placed him in the fighter-of-the-year conversation alongside Ryan Garcia, Daniel Dubois, and David Benavidez.

Pound-for-Pound Rankings

1. Naoya Inoue – Undisputed junior featherweight champion (33-0, 27 KOs). The four-division champion followed a huge 2025 with a career-defining victory over Junto Nakatani in May before a sellout crowd of 55,000 at the Tokyo Dome.

2. Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez – Unified junior bantamweight champion (24-0, 17 KOs). The 26-year-old moved up to 118 pounds in 2026 and scored a sixth-round knockout of Antonio Vargas to claim the WBA bantamweight title, a belt in his third weight class.

3. David Benavidez – Unified cruiserweight champion (32-0, 26 KOs). At 29, Benavidez moved up 25 pounds to cruiserweight and knocked out unified champion Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez, becoming the first boxer to win titles at 168, 175, and 200 pounds.

4. Shakur Stevenson – Junior welterweight titleholder (25-0, 11 KOs). Stevenson dominated lineal 140-pound champion Teofimo Lopez Jr. in January, winning 11 rounds on all three scorecards.

5. Oleksandr Usyk – Heavyweight (25-0, 16 KOs). The former two-time undisputed champion vacated his heavyweight titles in June to focus on a retirement bout, after a controversial TKO of kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven in May.

6. Dmitry Bivol – Unified light heavyweight champion (24-1, 12 KOs). Bivol returned from 15 months out after back surgery to claim a wide decision over Michael Eifert in May, with a December bout against Callum Smith scheduled.

7. Jaron Ennis – Unified junior middleweight champion (36-0, 32 KOs). "Boots" became the power player at 154 pounds with a seventh-round TKO over unbeaten unified champion Xander Zayas in June.

8. Devin Haney – Welterweight titleholder (33-0, 1 NC, 15 KOs). Haney dropped and handled unbeaten WBO titleholder Brian Norman Jr. in November to become a three-division champion, with a unification bout against IBF titleholder Liam Paro set for December.

9. Jai Opetaia – Cruiserweight titleholder (31-0, 24 KOs). The Australian captured Zuffa Boxing's inaugural title in March and defended the "Ring" title with a TKO of Noel Mikaelian in September.

10. O'Shaquie Foster – Unified junior featherweight champion (26-3, 12 KOs). Foster unified a trio of 130-pound titles against Navarrete in October after outpointing Raymond Ford in May, completing one of boxing's best recent redemption stories.
