Indiana Pacers All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton will miss at least two weeks due to a hamstring strain, coach Rick Carlisle announced Wednesday. The injury halts Haliburton's comeback after he sat out the entire 2025-26 season with a torn Achilles suffered in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Haliburton had averaged 21.8 points, 9.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds over Indiana's first four games, shooting 51.6% from the field, 37.0% from three-point range and 86.7% from the free-throw line. Carlisle described the news as "not good news, but it could be worse," labeling Haliburton week-to-week.
Pacers Adjust Lineup
Without Haliburton, the Pacers face a challenging stretch against the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks. Indiana is also without center Ivica Zubac and guard T.J. McConnell, while Andrew Nembhard is questionable with a neck/back injury. The absences push Pascal Siakam into a larger offensive role and force more small-ball lineups with Obi Toppin at center.
League-Wide Injury Trend
Haliburton joins a growing list of stars sidelined early in the NBA season, including Anthony Edwards, Jalen Williams, Paolo Banchero, Kawhi Leonard, Jaren Jackson Jr., Chet Holmgren and Alperen Şengün. The volume of injuries has reignited concerns about the game's increasing pace and physical demands, though no immediate solution is apparent.
