Longtime NBA broadcaster Ernie Johnson has made a significant announcement regarding his future with the popular "Inside the NBA" studio show, declaring simply, "It's just time."
Johnson, who has been a staple of TNT's NBA coverage for decades, delivered the news on Wednesday, though specific details about the nature of his announcement were not immediately disclosed. The phrase "It's just time" suggests a potential departure or role change after a lengthy tenure with the program.
Johnson has hosted "Inside the NBA" alongside analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny Smith, forming one of the most acclaimed studio teams in sports broadcasting history. Any change to the lineup would mark the end of an era for NBA television coverage.
Further details are expected to emerge in the coming days regarding Johnson's plans and the future composition of the show.
