Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia has become the latest high-profile player to turn his back on LIV Golf, according to reports on Thursday. The former Masters champion, who won the 2017 Masters Tournament at Augusta National, is said to be ending his association with the Saudi-backed circuit.
Garcia, 46, joined LIV Golf in 2022 as one of its early marquee signings. His departure follows a series of exits by other notable players from the breakaway league. The Spaniard has 11 PGA Tour victories and 16 European Tour wins to his name, and was a mainstay of European Ryder Cup teams for two decades.
A file photo from The Open Championship 2018 at Carnoustie shows Garcia during a practice round at the Scottish links course. The news was reported on October 29, 2026.
