The Los Angeles Kings secured their first victory of the 2026-27 NHL season on October 22, defeating the New York Islanders at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The win came after a season-opening stretch without a victory, raising questions about whether it marks a turning point for the club or merely a brief reprieve.
Left wing Artemi Panarin, wearing number 10, was credited with two goals in the first period, including the second tally that sparked a celebration among his teammates. The Kings' performance against the Islanders offered a glimpse of offensive potential, though the team's consistency remains to be tested in the weeks ahead.
