San Diego Padres pitcher Michael King has opted out of his contract, according to a report published on October 30, 2026. The right-hander, who wore number 34, appeared in the National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers earlier in the month.
A photo from Game 2 of the NLDS on October 4, 2026, at American Family Field in Milwaukee shows King heading to the dugout before the game. The Padres faced the Brewers in the postseason series.
The opt-out decision could make King a free agent this offseason, pending further details.
