Barcelona officials were reportedly left stunned by the decision to call up winger Raphinha to the Brazil national team squad, according to a report published on October 30, 2026.
The Brazilian international has been a regular feature for the Catalan club since his arrival, and his selection for national duty has apparently caught the club's hierarchy by surprise. The report did not specify the exact reasons behind the club's reaction, though such responses typically relate to concerns over player workload, injury risk, or scheduling conflicts with domestic commitments.
Raphinha has established himself as a key figure for both Barcelona and Brazil, featuring prominently in the national team's recent campaigns. The call-up comes during a congested period of the football calendar, with club and international fixtures overlapping.
