Max Verstappen issued a stern warning to Liam Lawson following a clash during the second free practice session (FP2), telling the younger driver it was "not smart to pick a fight with me." The incident occurred during a Formula 1 practice session, though specific details of the on-track confrontation were not immediately disclosed.
Verstappen, the reigning world champion driving for Red Bull Racing, and Lawson, who has been associated with the Red Bull junior program and Racing Bulls, appeared to have made contact or had a close encounter during the session. The Dutch driver's post-session comments suggest he was unhappy with Lawson's actions.
Such practice session clashes are not uncommon in Formula 1 as drivers push limits and jostle for track position, but Verstappen's pointed remark highlights the tension between the established star and the rising talent. Neither team has released an official statement regarding the incident.
