Andrew Novak carded a 10-under-par 62 on Saturday to open a commanding six-stroke lead after three rounds of the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld. The American's second consecutive low round moved him to 22-under for the tournament, putting him in prime position to capture his first PGA Tour victory.
Novak's bogey-free round featured 10 birdies on the par-71 layout in Vallarta, Mexico. The 29-year-old has now posted scores of 64-63-62 through 54 holes, matching the tournament's 54-hole scoring record.
The Mexico Open, part of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Fall series, concludes Sunday with Novak seeking to convert his substantial advantage into a breakthrough win.
