Florida State University has dismissed head football coach Mike Norvell after seven seasons leading the Seminoles program, according to reports from the Tallahassee Democrat.
The decision comes following the team's recent matchup against the Clemson Tigers at Doak S. Campbell Stadium, where Norvell was photographed on the sideline during the second half.
Norvell, who took over the program in 2020, compiled a record during his tenure that included notable victories but ultimately fell short of championship expectations in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The university is expected to begin a national search for his replacement immediately as the Seminoles look to return to national prominence in college football.
