The Seattle Kraken have acquired forward Matthew Wood from the Nashville Predators in a trade that sends Shane Wright to Nashville, according to reports from KIRO.
The deal marks a significant roster move for both NHL franchises. Wood, a promising forward prospect, joins the Kraken organization, while Wright, the former fourth-overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, heads to the Predators.
Wright, who wore number 51 for Seattle, had shown flashes of offensive potential during his time with the Kraken, including a goal celebration captured during a January 29, 2026 home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Climate Pledge Arena.
Financial terms and any additional assets involved in the trade were not immediately disclosed. Both teams will hope the swap addresses their respective organizational needs as the 2026-27 NHL season progresses.
