Former Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Jordan Groshans has signed with the Atlanta Braves, according to a report from Heavy.com on Monday. The infielder, who made his major league debut with the Miami Marlins on September 13, 2022, joins Atlanta after spending time in the Marlins organization.
Groshans, originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the first round of the 2018 MLB Draft, was traded to Miami as part of a deal that sent pitcher Zach Pop and infielder Anthony Bass to Toronto in 2022. He appeared in 23 games for the Marlins during his rookie season, batting .262 with one home run and six RBIs.
The 26-year-old infielder provides Atlanta with additional depth at the corner infield positions. Financial terms of the agreement were not immediately disclosed.
