Fantasy football managers should consider benching several kickers for Week 9 matchups, according to analysis from Sports Illustrated's fantasy football coverage. Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos and Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott headline a list of five specialists projected to underperform in the upcoming week.
The recommendation comes as fantasy leagues enter a critical stretch of the NFL season, with kicker streaming becoming an increasingly common strategy. Santos, who connected on a field goal against the New York Jets at Soldier Field on October 4, 2026, faces a challenging matchup that could limit scoring opportunities.
Elliott and three additional kickers round out the must-sit list, though specific names and matchup details were not disclosed in the initial report. Fantasy managers are advised to monitor injury reports, weather conditions, and offensive game scripts when making final lineup decisions for the weekend.
