The Houston Astros have made several notable additions to their player development department, including former New York Yankees Triple-A pitching coach Spencer Medick. Medick's role will focus on helping prospects increase their velocity, according to a report from the Houston Chronicle.
The hiring reflects the organization's continued investment in pitching development. Medick brings experience from the Yankees' minor league system, where he worked with pitchers at the highest minor league level.
