Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons has been sidelined since tearing his ACL in a Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos last season. On Wednesday, his 21-day practice window opened, and he addressed media for the first time about his injury and recovery.
Parsons revealed that in addition to ACL reconstruction, he underwent a full repair of both the medial and lateral menisci. That required him to be non-weight-bearing for two months, extending his recovery beyond typical ACL timelines.
He declined to set a target date for his return, saying he wants it to be a surprise and avoid disappointing anyone. Parsons acknowledged his conditioning is currently the worst of his career and does not expect to play 50-60 snaps immediately. He anticipates flashes of his All-Pro form but also moments of rust.
Despite the long absence, Parsons believes the patient approach was worth it and hopes to contribute during a potential playoff run. The Packers have rebounded from a 1-2 start to a 4-1 record since late September, positioning themselves for a postseason push.
"I came back for the greatest time of football," Parsons said. "And that's November football and December football. Let the show begin."
