Former Northbridge High School standout Joel LaChapelle will make his second consecutive start at quarterback for Assumption, continuing an impressive early collegiate career for the freshman signal-caller.
LaChapelle, who prepped at Northbridge High in Massachusetts, has quickly ascended the depth chart for the Greyhounds. His elevation to the starting role marks a significant milestone for the first-year player, who has shown poise and capability in his initial opportunities under center.
The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported that LaChapelle's promotion comes after a strong showing in his debut start, where he demonstrated the composure and decision-making that caught the coaching staff's attention during preseason camp.
Assumption's coaching staff has expressed confidence in the freshman's ability to manage the offense, citing his football IQ and preparation as key factors in the decision to stick with him for a second straight game.
