Hyrox world champion Joanna Wietrzyk has confirmed she will return to competition after what she described as a "very hard" few weeks following an incident of bowel incontinence during a race on September 12. The Polish athlete remained in the competition despite the episode and will next race in Germany.
Wietrzyk's decision to continue competing on September 12 drew attention in the fitness racing community. The Hyrox format combines running with functional workout stations, testing both endurance and strength across a standardized course.
The announcement comes after a period away from racing as Wietrzyk addressed the physical and mental challenges that followed the September event. Her return to the start line in Germany marks the next step in her competitive season.
