The New York Knicks are planning to decline the fourth-year team option on Pacome Dadiet's rookie contract, according to a report by Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News. The decision would make Dadiet an unrestricted free agent after the 2026-27 season.
Dadiet, a 19-year-old French forward, was selected by New York with the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The option deadline falls before the start of the 2026-27 campaign, giving the Knicks flexibility with their roster construction moving forward.
The move is not unexpected for a late first-round pick still developing in the NBA. Declining the option allows the Knicks to evaluate Dadiet's progress over the next two seasons before committing long-term salary cap space.
