Great Britain's Kadeena Cox claimed her second gold medal at the Para-cycling Track World Championships in the Netherlands on Saturday, adding a world record in the women's C4 sprint qualifying round.
Record-breaking sprint
In the first round, the 35-year-old five-time Paralympic champion clocked 11.409 seconds to set a new world record. She progressed through the semi-finals and edged Australia's Tara Neyland in a close final to secure her first individual sprint world title.
Earlier success
On Friday, Cox had already won the C4 1km time trial with another world record, marking her first gold of the championships.
British tandem dominance
Great Britain also collected gold in both tandem sprint events. James Ball and Aaron Pope added a second gold to their 1km time-trial victory, while Sophie Unwin and Jenny Holl claimed their sixth world title in the women's tandem sprint. Lizzi Jordan and Anna Whitworth-Hay took bronze after defeating Germany in the third-place ride.
Additional medals
Silver medals went to Elisabeth Simpson in the women's C2 sprint, Archie Atkinson in the men's C4 scratch race, and Fin Graham in the men's C3 elimination race. The results bring Great Britain's total to six gold, eight silver and five bronze medals at the championships.
