Fantasy Football Week 8: Rashee Rice and DJ Moore Lead Winners, Parker Washington and George Pickens Among Losers

Fantasy football managers saw a mixed bag of performances in Week 8, with several key wide receivers returning from injury and others struggling to produce. The week was marked by low scores from many top pass-catchers, making the returns of Rashee Rice and DJ Moore particularly valuable.

Week 8 Fantasy Winners

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice overcame a hamstring injury and a tough matchup against the Broncos, including cornerback Patrick Surtain II, to finish with seven catches for 53 yards and a touchdown on eight targets. Rice scored 18.3 PPR points and nearly added a second touchdown before a false start penalty negated it. His strong connection with Patrick Mahomes suggests he should be considered a high-end No. 2 fantasy receiver with borderline top-12 upside heading into a Week 9 matchup against the Jets.

Bills WR DJ Moore returned from a two-game absence due to a shoulder injury and delivered four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown on seven targets against the Ravens, including a 49-yard reception from Josh Allen. Moore posted 16.6 PPR points. While his upcoming schedule is challenging, starting with Week 9 at Minnesota, he remains a solid No. 2 fantasy option as long as he stays healthy.

Week 8 Fantasy Losers

Jaguars WR Parker Washington managed just one catch for 16 yards on two targets, adding a 10-yard run, for 3.6 PPR points. He has now scored 10.4 PPR points or fewer in three of his last four games, dropping from a potential top-10 receiver to a top-20 option. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is spreading the ball around — 11 players saw targets against the Colts — but Washington should still be started with confidence in Week 9 at Baltimore.

Cowboys WR George Pickens had two catches for 48 yards on four targets against the Cardinals, totaling 6.8 PPR points. A 35-yard reception was wiped out by a holding penalty. After stringing together three straight games with at least 13.3 PPR points, Pickens' dip raises concerns about a return to early-season inconsistency. However, he remains a must-start receiver with a favorable Week 9 matchup against the Colts, presenting a potential buy-low opportunity.

Other notable low scorers in Week 8 included Drake London (1.8 PPR), DK Metcalf (1.4), Zay Flowers (0), Tre Tucker (0), and Omar Cooper Jr. (0).
