Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has endorsed a potential takeover of the club by a consortium led by David Beckham, saying he sees no reason why the deal should not happen. Scholes' comments come amid ongoing speculation about the future ownership of the Premier League side, currently controlled by the Glazer family and minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Speaking on November 4, 2026, Scholes stated, "I don't see why not," when asked about the prospect of Beckham's group acquiring the club. The former England international has been linked with a bid to purchase United, which would mark a significant shift in the club's hierarchy.
