The Detroit Tigers have officially hired a new coach for the 2027 season, the club announced on Wednesday. The move comes as the organization prepares for the upcoming campaign following the 2026 season.
Current manager A.J. Hinch, who has led the team since 2021, was photographed during a game against the Chicago White Sox at Rate Field on September 17, 2026. The Tigers' front office has not yet disclosed the specific role or identity of the new coaching addition.
The announcement was made on November 4, 2026, giving the organization several months to integrate the new coach before spring training begins. Further details regarding the coaching staff structure for 2027 are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
