A retrospective redraft of the 2024 WNBA Draft shows Caitlin Clark remaining the clear No. 1 pick, while Angel Reese rises to No. 2 and several international guards climb the board.
The Indiana Fever would still select Clark first overall after her historic rookie season, two All-WNBA First Team selections, and leading the franchise to a 28-win season in 2026. The Los Angeles Sparks, originally taking Cameron Brink at No. 2, would instead pick Reese, who has become a Defensive Player of the Year and the league's best rebounder, guiding the Atlanta Dream to the 2026 Finals. Brink, limited to 65 games due to an ACL tear, would fall to No. 5 with the Dallas Wings.
At No. 3, the Chicago Sky would choose French guard Carla Leite over Kamilla Cardoso. Leite, after a draft-and-stash journey, broke out with the Portland Fire, posting one of the best high-volume pick-and-roll seasons and finishing third in Most Improved Player voting. The Sparks would use their second lottery pick at No. 4 on another French guard, Leïla Lacan, whose defensive impact has made the Connecticut Sun significantly better when she plays.
The Washington Mystics would take Rickea Jackson at No. 6 despite her subsequent ACL tear, valuing her wing scoring. The Sky's second pick at No. 7 goes to undrafted guard Sydney Taylor, who earned All-Rookie honors in 2026. The Minnesota Lynx would select Aaliyah Edwards at No. 8, the Dallas Wings add Australian Isobel Borlase at No. 9 after her playoff heroics for the Dream, and the Connecticut Sun would draft Emma Čechová at No. 10 as a draft-and-stash option.
Rounding out the lottery, the New York Liberty would take Kamilla Cardoso at No. 11, and the Atlanta Dream would select Jacy Sheldon at No. 12, hoping the journeyman guard can find stability.
