The San Francisco Chronicle's front-page cover featuring the Golden State Valkyries has become an instant icon, with photographer Clara Mokri describing the moment as a full-circle experience. The cover, which captured the team's triumph, was celebrated during the Valkyries' victory parade in San Francisco.
At the parade, fan Ben Bell carried a poster of the Chronicle's front page displaying Mokri's photograph, highlighting the impact of the image. Mokri, who has covered the team's journey, said the moment represented a personal and professional milestone.
The Golden State Valkyries, San Francisco's WNBA franchise, secured their championship victory, prompting the Chronicle's special edition. The cover has since been widely shared and praised for its composition and emotional resonance.
