An SB Nation column by Gene Ross published on November 5, 2026, draws parallels between Ryan Day's current Ohio State football program and the final stages of Urban Meyer's tenure as head coach.
The piece references a recent game between Ohio State and USC at the Los Angeles Coliseum on October 31, 2026, where Day was photographed on the sideline. The image, credited to Erick W. Rasco via Sports Illustrated/Getty Images, accompanies the analysis.
Ross's article, estimated at a seven-minute read, suggests that the Buckeyes under Day are showing signs reminiscent of the decline that preceded Meyer's departure.
